El Principado firma un acuerdo con Binter para garantizar conexiones diarias y reforzar la promoción turística en el archipiélago
El Principado ha cerrado un acuerdo con la aerolínea Binter para garantizar conexiones diarias con Tenerife Norte y Gran Canaria a partir del tercer trimestre de 2026. La medida refuerza la promoción de Asturias como destino turístico en el archipiélago y asegura una oferta de 3.696 plazas semanales durante todo el año. El acuerdo, firmado este martes en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria por el viceconsejero de Infraestructuras y Movilidad Sostenible, Jorge García, y el responsable de Network Planning de Binter, Daniel Rosales, contempla además acciones de promoción para consolidar la presencia de Asturias en el mercado canario. El objetivo es que, al menos, el 65% de los pasajeros de estas rutas sean residentes insulares que elijan el Principado como destino.
La operativa arrancará este otoño con cinco frecuencias semanales a Tenerife Norte y otras cinco a Gran Canaria. El próximo verano, entre marzo y octubre de 2026, las conexiones se ampliarán a seis vuelos directos a la semana con cada isla. Finalmente, desde octubre de ese mismo año, habrá un vuelo diario durante todo el año en ambas rutas. “Para nosotros resulta muy importante consolidarnos como un destino atractivo y accesible en un mercado tan relevante, cuyo flujo de visitantes viene creciendo en los últimos cinco años”, ha explicado el viceconsejero García.
El contrato, con una inversión anual de 363.000 euros hasta 2027, prevé la difusión de Asturias en soportes digitales de la aerolínea, aeropuertos canarios y hasta en los propios aviones de Binter, incluyendo reposacabezas, folletos o la revista corporativa. El mercado canario ha mostrado un crecimiento sostenido: según el INE, los turistas procedentes del archipiélago aumentaron un 79,6% en cinco años, pasando de 28.568 en 2019 a 51.283 en 2024.
